The Shipyard Project
The shipyards of Jacksonville were a vital
component of American industry and were critical to the United States’ success in WWII. Downtown Jacksonville was lined
with shipyards that produced vessels of war as well as luxury liners. Gradually this industry has shifted to other countries
and today there are only two shipyards remaining in the downtown area.
The Shipyard Project is a series of oil paintings
that record Jacksonville’s cultural maritime heritage. All works are painted on site.
